Operative Cake has opportunities for reliable Drivers to transport baked goods and snacks to the greater New York area. These products are delivered to a major NYC institution, encompassing approximately 1500 sites. The service area is inclusive of all five boroughs. Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver goods to customers in a professional, timely fashion
  • Safely and efficiently load freight
  • Safely and efficiently unload freight at all destinations
  • Refuel and clean the vehicle interior every shift
  • Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections
  • Ensure freight is secure
  • Communicate with dispatch any customer concerns, delays, equipment issues etc.
  • Maintain all required documentation and reports
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately and follow accident procedures
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as necessary and required
  • Maintain professionalism and make safety a priority at all times

Driver Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid and current license
  • Must have 2-year verifiable driving experience and 3 years of employment history
  • No more than 3 minor moving violations in the last 3 years
  • No unexplained gaps in employment
  • Must be DOT medically qualified
  • A Motor Vehicle Report will be ran for all states that applicants hold or has held a license for the past 3 years
  • All new hires must be vaccinated against COVID 19 or in the process of being vaccinated by September 27th
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds repeatedly to unload product from box truck
  • Steering, braking and performing related functions to drive a truck

Working Conditions:

  • Drive throughout shift on all types of roads and in all types of weather
  • Exposure to noise and vibrations
  • Exposure to diesel fumes
