Grocery Haulers has opportunities for reliable CDL-A Drivers to transport baked goods to major retailers, and distribution / sales centers throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. 

We offer multiple start times in most locations for day and night shifts. Days off vary depending on locations.  Drivers also have the ability to earn quarterly safety bonuses and premium pay for extra days worked outside of their normal schedule. SIGN-ON bonus of $8,000 for singles Drivers
Sign-on bonus of $15,000 for drivers that have ny state tandem endorsement in locations that require that certification.

Driver Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Class A CDL
  • Minimum of 23 years of age
  • All tractors must be 7 years old or NEWER at the time of hire
  • Must have 2-years verifiable tractor trailer driving experience
  • No license suspensions (excluding non-moving violations) in the last 3 years
  • Physically demanding – daily tasks could include repeatedly lifting about 50 lbs., pulling stacks of trays weighing approximately 25 to 50 pounds, and loading/unloading grocery products from trailer

    Must Have Permanent Work Authorization in the United States

Position Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver baked goods to customers in a professional, timely fashion
  • Load and unload cargo when necessary
  • Maintain all necessary data within electronic logging device for driving and loads
  • Refuel and clean the vehicle every shift
  • Operate tractor-trailer combination safely and adhere to all state and federal regulations
  • Perform daily pre and post trip inspections and complete all necessary tracking to ensure vehicles are safe to operate
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured in accordance with all applicable DOT regulations
  • Secure freight as necessary within trailer using appropriate equipment including but not limited to straps, load bars, etc.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly secured between the tractors and trailer while hooking and unhooking in locations
  • Safely and efficiently unload all freight at destinations using appropriate manual equipment
  • Communicate with dispatch any customer concerns, delays or route issues, road changes, equipment issues, etc.
  • Confirm all shipment trailers and loads match all shipment documentation
  • Maintain all required documentation and reports
  • Be aware of all weather conditions and road reports before and during all trips
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance and report any damage during inspections
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately and follow accident procedures
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as necessary and required
  • Maintain professionalism and make safety a priority at all times

Driver Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must have a  valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a current medical card
  • Must have a clean driving record with no moving violations
  • Must provide a PSP and MVR as well as submit to a background employment verification
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant driving experience working with 53’ equipment
  • Required to pass a pre-employment screen including a drug test and physical
  • Must be comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor trailer
  • Must be alert, detail orientated and focused
  • Must demonstrate reliability with an outstanding work ethic
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time and sit for extended periods of time as well as twist, bend, squat and climb in and out of the tractor
  • Must be able to work a lift-gate, hand truck and dock plate
  • Proficient at using GPS and onboard electronic devices
